This policy explains what personal data Le Délice — The French Bakery, Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir collects through this website and our in-store QR menus, and how we use it. It is written to comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
1. What we collect
When you create an account or place an order we collect your name, phone number, delivery address and (optionally) email and birthday, along with your order history. If you contact us or leave feedback, we keep that correspondence. Browsing the site stores a session cookie needed for the cart and login to work; we do not use advertising trackers.
2. Payment data
Online payments are processed entirely by our RBI-regulated payment-gateway partner. Your card or UPI details go directly to the gateway — we never see or store them. We keep only the transaction reference needed to match a payment to an order and process refunds.
3. How we use your data
To prepare and deliver your orders, send order updates (including on WhatsApp or SMS), respond to enquiries, handle refunds, and keep basic records that tax and food-safety law require us to keep. With your consent we may occasionally tell you about new items — you can opt out any time by replying or contacting us.
4. Who we share it with
Only the partners needed to run the bakery: our point-of-sale and order-management system, our payment gateway, messaging providers (for order updates), and delivery staff (name, address and phone for the delivery only). We never sell personal data. We may disclose data where Indian law requires it.
5. How long we keep it
Order and invoice records are retained as required by tax law (currently up to 8 years). Account details are kept while your account is active; ask us and we will delete your account and any data we are not legally required to retain.
6. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, 2023 you may request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, withdraw consent, and nominate someone to exercise these rights for you. Write to us through the contact page or call +91 88992 56432; we respond within 30 days.
7. Security
The site is served over HTTPS, passwords are stored hashed, and access to customer data is limited to staff who need it to fulfil orders.
8. Grievances
Complaints about how your data is handled go to our grievance contact at the Boulevard Road outlet (Opp. Ghat No. 9, Durgjan, Boulevard Road, Srinagar — 190001). If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

We will post any changes to this policy on this page with a new "last updated" date.
